About Scott

Scott Monnin is a Lighting Designer from Granville, Ohio. Currently they are in DC pursuing an MFA at the University of Maryland, previously they graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelors of Science in Physics and English. In grad school they have been happy to expand their skills from theater into Dance and Opera, as well as working with new technologies for performance. They are particularly interested in explore the intersections of gender and sexuality with technology and live performance art.

Selected recent Lighting Design Credits include The Creeps at Playhouse46, Islander national tour as Associate/American relighter, and Rocky Horror at Pendragon theater.

 

Currently they are excited to be involved with new works including Dua: A Monster’s Story with Prometheus Theater in DC, and Playing Wolves, as well as several Dance works throughout DC.

 

Outside of their own design, Scott has worked as an Associate/Assistant in several theaters in both Washington DC and New York at: Woolly Mammoth Theater, Roundhouse Theater, Onley Theater, Wolf Trap Opera, New York at City Center, Playhouse46, and Theatre Row.
